Genesis 35:16-18 states:

"16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

Artist's Reflection

"The eye sees a tragedy, but the Spirit sees a transition. Rachel looked back and saw Ben-Oni (The son of my sorrow), but the law of the kingdom demands we rename the pain. Jacob stood at the breach and spoke Benjamin (The son of my right hand). We are not here to mourn what died in the desert; we are here to witness the birth of the 12th tribe....Benjamin. In our own circumstances, don't let our pain defines our future, but speak life in the face of difficulties and 'death' (past failures, hurts and grief). Be blessed.
