My Prayer Closet
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." - Matthew 6:6
Prayer #1: A Prayer of Acknowledgment and Petition to Elohim
O Elohim, my strong and faithful Creator, the majestic and sovereign God! I come before Thee in awe of Thy great power, for Thy Word declares: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1, KJV). Thou art the source of all life, the Architect of the cosmos, and the One in whom I live, and move, and have my being.
I praise Thee, Elohim, for Thy loving-kindness and tender mercies, which are new unto me every morning. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me (Psalm 23:4, KJV). Thou art my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, KJV).
By the authority of Thy creative Word, I ask that You would create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10, KJV). When I am weak, remind me that Thou, the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary (Isaiah 40:28, KJV).
I declare today that there is nothing too hard for Thee, O God of all flesh (Jeremiah 32:27, KJV). I place my impossible situation, my deepest need, and my greatest fear into Thy mighty, creative hands. According to Thy promise, Thou shalt supply all my need according to thy riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, KJV).
Fill me with Thy glory and empower me to walk in the image and likeness in which You have created me. May my life be a testament to Thy creative power and everlasting love. I pray this in the mighty and redeeming name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
